Problem Note 37374: Poor performance when exporting unformatted numeric data from SAS® Web Report Studio to Microsoft Excel

DetailsAboutRate It

In SAS Web Report Studio, when exporting from the View Detail window, performance might be very slow. In addition, the log might contain the following warning message:

WARN [] com.sas.storage.jdbc.export - BESTFIT is an invalid SAS format name because does not contain the dot . character

This problem is most likely to occur if the numeric columns have no format or if they are using the standard numeric format (w.d) on the physical table. To circumvent the problem, do one of the following:

  • Change the column format to something other than the standard w.d format. For example, change the format to F6. or F12.
  • For com.sas.storage.jdbc, change the logging level to ERROR instead of WARN.
